Advent Calendar
Each year I bring out he family advent calendar, which consists of a wooden box once belonging to my grandmother, that now contains 24 matchboxes. Within each matchbox is an activity that celebrates the winter season and creates traditions.
How to create your own Advent Calendar:
You will need:
A box (a shoe box will do)
24 x matchboxes or envelopes
Card and pens to decorate and number each box/envelope
Paper
Instructions:
Number each box/envelope 1-24.
Cut 24 x pieces of A7 sized paper.
On each piece of paper write out an activity (use the list below for ideas)
Plan your activities by checking your diary (we do simple activities like reading and bubble baths during the week when we’re all busy).
Keep a written record of what you plan to do each day, so you can be flexible and change them around if you need to.
Keep the activties simple and base them on what you would normally do anyway. You don’t want to create more work for yourself.
You could add a chocolate coin to each box if you like.
Keep all the tasks and reuse them each each year instead of rewriting them each time.
