Using the Japanese principles of Shibumi these simple works aim to encourage the viewer to pause and experience the essence of the subject matter.
The subject matter in this collections is the rugged and sublime landscape of the North Welsh slate mining area. My family live in Snowdonia have worked in the slate quarries for generations, so the dark grey slag heaps of the slate quarries feel like part of my history.
